KONE’s research and development team constantly invests in improving its people flow solutions to exceed market demands and trends. It is a universally accepted opinion that one cannot solve a problem on the same level that it was created. They have to rise above it to the next level. This is true of KONE, one of the global leaders in developing and delivering innovative and eco-efficient solutions for elevators, escalators and auto walks. These solutions enable people to move smoothly, safely and comfortably in facilities.

KONE was the first elevator company to bring the machine-room-less elevator concept to the market already in 1996. The innovation was driven by customer demand for energy-efficiency and space savings. This created a fully new segment, machine-room-less elevators which became a common industry standard within a decade.

“KONE’s recently released elevator platforms boast industry leading designs, eco-efficiency, space efficiency and ride comfort. These aim at reducing construction and operating costs, and providing the best customer and end-user experience”, said Mr. SamerHalabi, KONE’s Regional Managing Director for the Middle East.

Mr. Samer further added, “The models provide reliability and performance while utilizing the latest technology to meet the needs of the Middle Eastern market. The attributes mentioned have already been an integral part of the line-up of KONE products (elevators, escalators and auto walks) in the past.” “We like to say that we’ve now made best even better”, Mr. Samer continued.

KONE prides in being fast and flexible with a well-deserved reputation as a technology leader in the GCC, KONE’s innovations can be experienced in architectural landmarks like the Princess Tower in Dubai, Burj Qatar in Doha, and Dokaee Clock Tower complex in Makkah. At the Princess Tower site for instance, the self climbing Jump Lift solution provided valuable construction time transportation even before the building was topped-out.

“The company supports are the customers- who include developers, consultants, designers, main contractors, facility managers, and building owners, every step of the way; from design, manufacturing and installation to maintenance and modernization. As we are involved in the entire like-cycle of the equipment, and the building, we strive to provide a long term partnership and offer the best value when it comes to total cost of ownership”, says Mr. Samer.

“To prove that we also walk the talk, we were the first elevator company to be awarded with the A-class VDI energy efficiency rating for our elevator platforms”, said Jani Palkola, KONE’s Marketing and Communications Manager. Just this October, Forbes ranked KONE among the top 50 innovative companies in the world for the second year in a row remaining the only elevator and escalator company that has made it to the top. KONE’s strategy agrees well with the fact that there’s no good idea that cannot be improved on.
